School

There are seveal things to consider before you leave:

IMPORTANT: Schools generally require you to give a term’s notice* when you are taking children out of school. Failure to give them adequate notice can mean that they may still charge you for the full term fees and/or not refund the school deposit. If the reason for leaving is operational then the High Commission will cover these expenses – however if you have had adequate time in your posting to notify the school and have not done so then you will be liable for these amounts.

Request A Final Report Card:

In order to provide accurate academic progress for your child back in Australia, remember to ask the school for a final report card / teacher report on your child.

To Consider

Don’t forget to hold a farewell party with your kids friends! They’ve had a second home too!

Medical and Referrals

If you have accessed UK Medical services, before you return to Australia, be sure to ask for a copy of  your records to take home with you as the two countries will not have an automated medical file sharing system.

Be wary of the types of medications your are travelling with – both through the countries you may be transiting through, as well as Australia, for legality.

Be sure to cancel any referrals you might be waiting on, and to have a conversation with your Specialist’s admin team to see if they a recommending Dr back in Australia.
